This may be one of the hardest projects/printables I’ve ever put together. Spiders creep me out and putting this together required learning about spiders and seeing lots of pictures that creeped me out.
I hope my children appreciate my sacrifice lol.

Spider Craft Directions
Once you’ve reviewed the spider facts you’ll be ready to make this cute spider craft. You can use your own knowledge, books, or YouTube videos.
1 – Make the body
Grab a piece of paper to use as a background. I used orange but you can use any color. (White may make it a little hard to read the spider facts.)
To make the body you’ll need 1 large black pom-pom and one small craft pom-pom.
2 – Add the legs
You can give your spider legs out of whatever you want…just make sure it has 8.
We did it with both paper clips (which can hold the facts) and pipe cleaners. With pipe cleaners you can make them straight, or bend them to make more realistic legs.
(Pipe cleaners are much easier to attach with tape than with glue.)

3 – Add the spider facts
Finish off the craft by adding the spider facts. If you use paper clips they can slide into the paper clip (before you attach the paper clips is best). Or, glue them to the end of each leg.
Spider Facts – True/False Sort
A great way to learn some spider facts is with this True/False Spider Fact Sort.
Print out the worksheet and glue the facts in the true or false columns. There are 8 true facts and 4 false facts. Some of them are obvious, but some may take a little spider knowledge to figure out.

The PDF download includes all the activities on this page. Print out one or all and enjoy your spider learning!
Spider Life-Cycle
Life cycle activities are always interesting. Kids love learning that animals have to grow up just like they do!
Teach them the life-cycle of spiders and then have them fill in one on their own.

Spider Books

A fictional tale about the life of a backyard jumping spider.
Spiders give me the creeps, but this book was cute enough that I didn’t mind reading it.

My kids love Science Comics and the spider edition is one of their favorites. My daughter has learned tons about spiders from this book.
Because it’s a comic book format kids see it more as fun than educational!

This is a cute fictional story about a spider who just wants friends…but everyone is afraid of him.
It’s a bit Halloween themed as the spider tries costumes to make people like him more…but kids will enjoy it any time of year!

National Geographic Kids books are always a great bet. This one is also a Level 1 reader so some kids will be able to read it themselves.
Just beware if you are creeped out by spiders, the pictures are close up and detailed…
