Dinosaur Craft for kids {Printable Paper Craft}

There’s something about dinosaurs that is fascinating to kids and adults alike. Bring dinosaurs to life by creating your own dino land with this fun printable dinosaur craft and activity.

This fun craft can simply be made to look at, played with, or used as cute dinosaur classroom decorations.

My kids had a great time helping me make this craft. As you’ll see I had help from both my 7 and 5 year old coloring the different pieces. They’ve enjoyed playing with the pieces too!

Supplies

Printable templates (download below)
crayons or markers
glue or glue stick
Optional: Large piece of cardboard as a base to build on

Directions

1 – Start by creating your background.

Print the volcano, trees, watering hole, rocks and plants. You can print them multiple times if you want a larger background.

2 – Now it’s time to add some dinosaurs.

You can color all the dinosaurs or choose your favorites. There are a total of 7 different dinosaurs that you can include or use several of the same kind to make a dino family.

3 – Build your dino land!

When cutting out your chosen pieces be careful not to cut off the rectangle pieces attached to the pieces. These will be folded and provide a way to attach your pieces and give it a 3D effect.

Plan where you want all the pieces before gluing them to a piece or cardboard.

Ways to Use this Craft

There are several different ways to use this craft.

1 – You can follow the directions above and attach your pieces to a piece of cardboard or use them to create a large dinosaur diorama.

2 – Leave them loose so you can use them for imaginative play. For this you’ll definitely need to print on cardstock. Some pieces pay need popsicle sticks to help keep them upright or a toilet paper roll for the big volcano.
